002: Hollow Books

002: Hollow Books

September 25, 2014
This is starting to look official!!! We've recorded episode 002 and it's bang on time! Who said the days of miracles have ceased?

And.... it seems the idea of a bunch of co-hosts is working its magic as there's no Rick or Marc this week, leaving the show in the capable hands of GabrielHans and Nigel. We love it when a plan comes together!

On to the technology though..... This week we discuss
  • Should EMC sell off VMware
  • Would an HP + EMC mega-merger have been a good thing
  • The value of R&D in big companies
  • Googles new mega data center planned for The Netherlands
  • NetApp's secret launch of FlashRay
  • OpenStack

Plus a special birthday message for Marc and another review of a secret windows phone app.

ITWT-001.pngIn this weeks inaugural episode of The In Tech We Trust Podcast, our motley crew of tech opinioators talk about the raging cloud wars - including recent news that HP will acquire Eucalyptus and Cisco acquire Metacloud.  Some of us lay the boot in on EMC over the looming destructive-high-effort-upgrade about to be levied on XtremIO customers wishing to move with the times.
We also round off the show with a couple of segments that'll be regulars on upcoming shows.  First up we do our first ever Film/TV Series review - this week we talk about "Extant", the CBS sci-fi show that also airs on Amazon Prime Instant Video. And we round the show out with Marc impersonating Derek Zoolander while he reviews a Secret Windows Phone App review.
